What ZenBusiness Gets Right

The software. ZenBusiness built a genuinely slick platform, and if you like logging into one clean dashboard for formation documents, filing status, and agent mail, they deliver that experience better than most of the category. Owners who want their whole business-admin life in a single account have a real reason to be there, and we're not going to pretend otherwise.

Then You Meet Year Two

Buy registered agent service from ZenBusiness on its own and the first year costs $99 plus state fees. The renewal is $199 a year, and that renewal is what you'll actually live with. Year one is the advertisement. Year two through year ten are the price.

That's a $100 gap opening up every twelve months once the introductory year lapses. Nothing about it is hidden or dishonest on their part; the renewal figure is published. It's just a number most buyers don't look at until it hits the card.

What Our $99 Covers in Alaska

One price, one address, no menu:

• $99 a year, and the renewal invoice matches it. No step-up in year two, ever.
• Service of process scanned the day it arrives and emailed to you, with a copy in your portal.

Making the Switch From ZenBusiness in Alaska

Alaska makes the exit cheap. You file a Statement of Change of Registered Agent, which the state numbers Form 08-409, and pay $25. The recipient is the Corporations Section at the Division of Corporations, Business and Professional Licensing, an office that sits under the Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development. If ZenBusiness support tells you to notify the Secretary of State, note that Alaska doesn't have one; the Division is where this goes.

Order the new service before you send that form. The change form asks for the incoming agent's Alaska physical address and Alaska mailing address, so you need our details in hand to complete it, and doing it in that order means your entity is never sitting on the state's record without a valid agent. A lapse is the only genuinely risky way to do this.

One more thing worth doing the same week: cancel the ZenBusiness subscription yourself. Filing with the Division tells the state who your agent is. It doesn't tell your old provider to stop billing you.
